Choosing the right stainless steel filter comes down to four decisions: material, rating, form and quantity. Get these on paper and we can quote and build without back-and-forth. This page is a short checklist; each step links to a deeper guide if you want the detail.
Step 1 — Material grade
SS 304 suits general, dry or low-chloride use; 316/316L adds corrosion resistance for marine, chemical, food and high-purity duty, and 316L is preferred for welded parts. If your medium is wet, salty or acidic, default to 316L. → Full detail: 304 vs 316L — how to choose the grade.
Step 2 — Filtration rating
Give us either the micron rating (the particle size to retain) or the mesh count. Micron is the safest single number; mesh count needs wire diameter to be exact. Tell us your flow rate too, so we balance rating against pressure drop. → Full detail: mesh count vs. micron rating.
Step 3 — Media type and form

Step 4 — Quantity and documentation
